After the game's acquisition by Rockstar Games, it was released in Europe for the Dreamcast on 1 February 2000, with the US release following in the same month. In December 2003, alongside ''Grand Theft Auto'' and ''Grand Theft Auto 2'', ''Wild Metal Country'' was made available to download for free on Rockstar Games' "Rockstar Classics" free download series.
